Part 1 — Verify the address, every time
A package marked delivered more than 50 meters from the geopin, or left at the wrong unit, becomes a "did-not-receive" concession. The map is a guide — the number on the building is the truth.
✓ Do
- Match the number on the building to the label AND the app.
- Check the label on every package at a group stop — they may be different homes.
- Stay within the geopin; deliver at the correct front door.
- If you must deliver >50m away, text and call the customer first to align.
✗ Don't
- Assume every package at a stop goes to one address.
- Leave a package at a similar-looking neighboring unit.
- Trust the map pin alone without checking the building.
- Mark delivered when you couldn't confirm the location.
Real miss: A DA delivers to 1421, but the package was for 1412 across the street. The photo shows the wrong porch, >50m from the geopin. The real customer reports never receiving it — a DSB concession and a CDF hit.
Part 2 — Follow the customer's notes
Customers leave delivery instructions for a reason. Follow them when it's safe and secure — and when you can't, tell the customer before you deviate.
✓ Do
- Read the notes and access codes before you walk up.
- Follow the instructions when the spot is safe and secure.
- If the spot is unsecure, text and call to confirm before leaving it.
- If you must deviate, text and call to give notice.
✗ Don't
- Ignore notes, hints, or access codes.
- Leave a package in plain view of the street because the note said so.
- Deviate from the instructions silently.
- Leave it in a USPS mailbox (a federal offense).
Done right: The note says "behind the side gate," but the gate is wide open to the street. The DA texts and calls, confirms it's still wanted there, places it out of view, and takes a clear photo — no theft, no complaint.
