Pace, plan, and clock out on time
The measure of success is completing your route without assistance and clocking out by the 10-hour-15-minute mark.
✓ Do
- Plan your sequence and pace to finish within 10 hours 15 minutes.
- Stay efficient at each stop — park safely, grab the right packages, keep moving.
- Watch your time; if you're falling behind, call dispatch early so they can help you plan.
- Finish the route you accepted, including pickups, and return to clock out.
- If you genuinely can't finish in time, call dispatch about out-of-drive-time (OODT) before you run out.
✗ Don't
- Treating the 10 hours as a target to fill — earlier is better.
- Going past the 10-hour-15-minute mark without ever calling dispatch.
- Skipping stops to beat the clock instead of calling for a plan.
- Waiting until you're already over time to ask for help.
- Leaving the route unfinished and assuming someone will rescue it.
Real example: At hour 7 a DA sees they still have 60 stops. They call dispatch right then; dispatch re-sequences and pulls a few stops, and the DA still clocks out at 9:40 — no end-of-day scramble.
