The five habits, every trip
Buckle, slow, stop, leave a gap, eyes up. Master these and your safety score takes care of itself.
✓ Do
- Buckle up before you move — the belt must be on at or above 6 mph.
- Stay at the posted limit on every road, highway included.
- Set your route and phone in the mount before you pull away; eyes on the road while moving.
- Leave a safe following gap and come to a complete stop at every stop sign.
- Keep the inward camera clean and finish your post-trip DVIC.
✗ Don't
- Driving even a few feet unbuckled between stops.
- Driving 10+ mph over the limit (that triggers an ORSA).
- Holding or glancing at your phone while moving.
- Tailgating, rolling through stop signs, or illegal U-turns.
- Blocking or smearing the inward camera — it disables seatbelt and distraction scoring.
Real example: A DA has strong delivery numbers but a few seatbelt-off and rolling-stop events drag Safety to Fair — and because Safety caps the card, the whole standing is held at Fair.
